Batson Children's Hospital
Batson is Mississippi's only Children's Hospital. Batson houses the state's only Level I pediatric trauma center, intensive care unit, Level III newborn intensive care unit, children's cancer clinic, rehabilitation center, child psychiatry unit, dental clinic, child development center and surgical facility.

Laurel Jones County Animal Rescue League (ARL)
Founded in 1981, the Animal Rescue League (ARL) was the first no-kill facility in Mississippi. ARL is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the homeless, abandoned, and mistreated animals in Jones County.

SCAR is a no kill rescue that focuses not only on rescue, but impacting the overpopulation so prevalent in the south. They aim to impact the severe overpopulation problem in the south by not only rescuing animals, but also helping through educating the public, community outreach, foster networks, and transport programs.

Southern Pines Animal Shelter
In 2018, Southern Pines Animal Shelter achieved a Save Rate of over 96.7%. Their mission is to provide humane shelter for homeless and lost cats and dogs, provide affordable spay/neuter and helthy per services, encourage adoptions and educate the community about responsible pet ownership.
