Capital One Data Breach
Capital One announced on July 19th, the discovery of unauthorized access leading to a data breach. This data breach is said to affect over 100 million people in the United States. Between March and July 2019, Capital One states a hacker gained access to social security numbers, personal bank account numbers and credit card applications dating between 2005 and 2019. The hacker also obtained credit scores and contact information. The individual who hacked the system has been arrested as of Monday July 29th. Capital One plans to notify each individual that has been affected.
